Cathryn Meurn brings fifteen years of front-line experience in building programs, deep expertise in digital development, and a passion for sustainable social impact. The experience of establishing new fields such as digital health – through programs, multi-stakeholder events, and evidence building – has enabled Ms. Meurn to be both visionary and practical. In her Chief of Staff position at Vital Wave, she manages client relationships and business outreach with a familiarity of both the development and business communities alike.
Ms. Meurn came to Vital Wave’s attention while at the United Nations Foundation, where she collaborated on the creation of the mHealth Alliance, a multi-sector group dedicated to improved health care through the use of mobile devices. Prior to Vital Wave, Ms. Meurn has drawn from her training and research in conflict resolution to oversee international grantees and facilitate cross-cultural workshops on a range of sensitive development issues, including interfaith dialogues, health, and big data.
Ms. Meurn holds a Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and a BA in International Studies from Dickinson College. She has studied in Indonesia, Turkey, Cambodia, and Israel and Palestine, and she is proficient in Spanish.
