Anna Schurmann

Anna Schurmann is a public health expert providing support to projects across South Asia and globally. She has 15 years of experience, with a focus on strategy creation, knowledge management, implementation, and documentation. Anna has strong skills in strategic systems thinking and planning, as well as experience working with state and national governments, multilateral agencies, NGOs and the corporate sector.

Most recently, Ms. Schurmann has been working in the area of new technologies and health, including e-governance, looking at issues of scalability and change management. Her technical focus is reproductive health, but she has worked in a variety of health areas including TB, non-communicable diseases and HIV/AIDS. At Vital Wave, Ms. Schurmann led an assessment of the potential for eHealth and mHealth applications to reach national scale in India, on behalf of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ms. Schurmann holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a Certificate in International Development Policy from Duke University, and a BA in Social Theory and Cultural Studies from the University of Melbourne.
