In partnership with Digital Square, Vital Wave assessed total cost of ownership for digital supply chain systems. Through this work, the firm created an evidence-based, comprehensive costing for health software, resulting in a highly valuable reference document for the entire digital health community that supports costing, budgeting, and planning of digital system implementations. To achieve this, Vital Wave conducted a comprehensive evaluation of costs for five, nationally scaled logistics management information systems (LMIS) used to manage stock and distribution of life-saving commodities. The resulting reference document presents illustrative costs associated with the adaptation of an existing open-source global good for LMIS and its implementation and operation over a period of five years across a variety of different low-resource contexts.
