Since 2012, a prominent health-focused foundation had invested over $40 million in Nigeria through a number of partners and grants of various sizes. However, the majority of these investments were never independently evaluated. The foundation engaged Vital Wave to evaluate all projects in Nigeria and assess the portfolio’s overall influence on health priorities and management. Vital Wave used a mixed-methods approach to capture both tangible and intangible outcomes, as well as insights on possible cross-program synergies. Findings of the evaluation informed discussions with the Government of Nigeria and guided future strategies and investments in the country.
