As a result of its proof-of-concept, Vital Wave was funded for an additional two-year engagement to address four primary points of weakness in the digital financial services ecosystem in Uganda (MNO operations, aggregator capacity, pricing, and risk management) and to onboard an additional four to six bulk payers to test the new ecosystem. Over two years, Vital Wave co-located and worked closely to onboard payers in the agricultural value chain. Vital Wave also worked to improve the policies and operations of key mobile payment service providers through extensive partners with MNOs, the aggregator community, and donors. As a result, the digital financial services ecosystem grew organically in Uganda.
