After partnering with a high-profile global foundation to improve the broader digital payments environment in Uganda, Vital Wave applied mobile payment tools and services to the education sector. This project began with a comprehensive analysis of the primary and secondary school payments ecosystem (based on secondary research, as well as surveys and interviews in both urban and rural areas). This assessment led to the identification of existing and proposed digital payment solutions, and recommendations for programmatic solutions that would allow caregivers and schools to improve the payments process through mobile technologies.
