Francis Gonzales joined Vital Wave in 2016 to support the company’s business development, bringing passion and highly relevant experience in mHealth for reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH).
Prior to joining Vital Wave, Mr. Gonzales helped manage the Every Woman, Every Child Innovation Working Group’s catalytic mHealth grants program – a $10 million initiative housed at the United Nations Foundation. In his role as Global Health Officer, Mr. Gonzales planned workshops, contributed to tools and guides, and prepared case studies for grantees and the wider mHealth community. Prior to his work at the UN Foundation, he interned at Population Services International in the Malaria and Child Survival department. He has also volunteered for startup social enterprises and a South African non-profit focused on migrant farm worker health.
Mr. Gonzales holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development from Brown University. He studied social determinants of health in South Africa, Vietnam, and Brazil with the International Honors Program.
