HIV Data Landscape Assessment and Gap Assessment in Tanzania

For a major Foundation client, Vital Wave is conducting a comprehensive assessment of how Tanzania collects and uses HIV data for the purposes of strategic and operational planning; partner and donor coordination; program performance management (M&E); and the delivery of prevention, care and treatment services. The engagement includes an in-depth examination of the local systems, tools, processes, capacities, and institutions currently being used (“current state”) by HIV programs to collect program performance and individual-level patient care data in Tanzania. A Gap Assessment is being conducted to assess the “potential state” of HIV data collection if gaps are filled. The project culminates with the development of and socialization of actionable final recommendations for closing gaps to enable Tanzania to better collect, disseminate, and use HIV data in country.
